Since I don't have a real home (I move every 4 months for my job), I've been keeping my stuff at my parents house in NC.

I don't think there is going to be any problem with holding up rents.

I fault parents and school councelors for not being able to give the children real Life Path Guidance because they do not know, themselves!

I have a tenant who moved from CA back to MI to care for a sister in with cancer and more recently an ill parent.

Hi all, I recently came across a property that is literally in my parents backyard.

When I was 16, I saw my parents real estate investment take a turn in assisting them pursue financial freedom and when I was 17 I saw the effects of bad mortgages on a close extended family member.  

My parents bought in Wilson NC in 1997 and today their house is still worth what they paid 19 years ago.

Any chance the issues with the comps are based on time of year of the sale (parents not wanting to move mid-school year, etc)?   

I am somewhat familiar with my area (Broward County, Florida) and own one rental property with my parents that we bought with cash in 2010 and split the rental income 33 (me)/66.

I've seen my parents financially crippled under houses and cars they bought and lost because of lay-offs and poor planning.
