Best advice with contractors is always warranty, insurance, pay with card(if theres a 3% fee so what) and no large deposits.

I then disputed the charge with my credit card company and the SAME DAY I receive a notification that the package was being sent!

Because what's going to happen is this is a scammer using a fake or stolen credit card, and you won't get paid.

@Steven Catudal You are free to deduct and will probably get away with it.Do keep in mind if the tenant sues you hold very bad cards for court.

Would love to hear about raising debt, possibly ... credit line investing / credit cards for downpayments...?

They also have a "reserve" fee in which they collect 10% of every credit card transaction and hold it for 90 days before releasing it back.
