@Rachel Bier, if I understand correctly, when you apply for a ELOC*, the approved money would be yours for the taking, but would only accrue interest once you draw on it.

It seems to be going along fine.RealtyShares is probably my least favorite of the platform among several I've invested on for two reasons: (1) they do not prefund their investments and (2) a long lag time from closing to first payment.Many platforms prefund their investments, meaning investors begin accruing interest the day they make the purchase, the day the platform receives their funds or shortly thereafter that date (ie. close to the actual purchase date).

That's what I'm going to assume)If it is short term financing, 6 months to a year, there should be no problem to get the seller to just let the interest accrue and just receive it in one balloon payment once the place is sold or refinanced.Even if it is a longer term financing, I still ask for at least the first 3-6 months with no payments or interest, "to get my ducks in a row."
