I am looking into my STR options but from what I have learned this is a overflowing market in the area and the vacancy's are increasing so I may look into mid term and long term only.

For on the ground evaluations, I rely on local contacts: agents, contractors, or even property inspectors to provide walkthrough videos and detailed feedback.

It'll be confusing in the short term, I think people assume it's inflationary.

You need to decide what you like in terms of communication and then determine what price you are willing to pay for that service.

@Jemini LeckieIf investing locally is not in the cards I would do some research and pin point a market that fits what you are looking for and then reach out in the forums for that specific market and ask more detailed questions.

What about refinancing  costs or what ever costs that occurs at the end of the loan term?

If upfront savings matter, closing personally and transferring later may work, but if long-term protection and simplicity are priorities, paying for an LLC loan upfront is worth considering.

Strategy 1: buy a duplex, live in one unit (for one year as a "primary residence) and rent out another unit as a short-term / mid-term rental on Airbnb.

Present your terms again, I am sure you will find one that sees the value in having a listing like yours to break into that market.
