You may not have ill intent and you might not feel that you're discriminating, but in the eyes of the law, you did with the initial question you asked and doubled down with this response.

I initially learned a lot about syndications through Lane's website, so I credit him for opening my eyes to a different type of investment. 

Also, don't forget to keep an eye out for the recent BOIR Filing under the Corporate Transparency Act for every LLC you form; hence, a checklist is always helpful. 

I have my eye on a couple interesting deals; any advice or potential connections would be greatly appreciated!

Dealing with that on a local level where you have eyes on the project and the ability to deal with issues early and if needed legally is 100 times easier than doing it long distance. 

Yes the price point will forever be a struggle, which is why I try and keep my eyes open for new lending opportunities.

However I think the real benefit is being able to keep an eye on your kids while you cook and/or watch some mindless entertainment, and also be able to communicate with your family while also doing kitchen tasks.
