Tenants who don't pay and tenants who tear up an apartment, will cause you headaches beyond belief, not to mention a huge loss financially.

Hello Reid.I wanted to do the same thing myself in one of my parks, but currently the general belief is that the revenue generated isn't enough to justify work on machines (constant maintenance) and the issues it can bring with people outside of the park using it as an excuse to hang out and be up to no good.If you live nearby and are able to fix the machines yourself it may be worthwhile (may not be best use of your time). 

I would suggest picking 1-2 key non-family-but-important-tasks per day and religiously finishing them.

It is definitely a cultural belief now and, in my opinion, it makes people lazy investors.

It is my firm belief that each real estate tax bill in Illinois generates a minimum base charge before they calculate the taxes. 

Contrary to popular belief, this is not set because I believe it will give me a higher return.

You probably need to clarify your belief into text in the lease for your tenants. 

This is where they are happy their limiting beliefs overpowered that ambition to start investing. 

Don't let your personal political beliefs(libertarian, live and let live, etc) get in the way of good managerial policy.
