Here in New York, it's kind of up in the air. 

However, if being a landlord isn’t appealing, hiring a property manager would ease that burden.

BP is so large now, unfortunately, there are a lot of "professionals" advertising their services here but don't know the REI industry.So, to protect yourself in the future, I'd ensure at least a few other REIs have worked with the professional you choose to hire and have received enough value from them to refer their services.You can always ask the professional for references as well and they should have no problem providing a few if they are good at what they do.Just my 2 cents.

I called the 1 800 number and was told they place victims in housing and find re-location housing for  company new hires. 

Am I required to hire an attorney to write up the contract and assist with the closing?

I have a fully furnished home I want to put on Air BnB.  

It will be a hire rate that market average, but at least it will be principal and interest bearing.

Honestly, if you are out of state you should probably be hiring property management regardless of troublesome tenants in the present.i don't know how experienced you are as an investor or if this market you're buying in is one due for exceptional appreciation but realistically $160/mon cashflow is not a move i would suggest in the short term considering you're a world away and any number of things could go wrong that would wipe out a years worth of cashflow overnight.
