I’ve considered multifamily or duplexes, but from what I’ve heard, they’re unideal right now, so I’m leaning towards STRs.I’ve put together a list of areas that seem STR-friendly with good tourism appeal, and I’d love to get feedback from people who know the San Antonio market well.

I find that hard to believe, but you can always call HR and simply say you are trying to confirm if X works there and not say why you need to know.

But if you do get rid of it make sure you know what you plan is for that space.

Let's of NYC investors look at other cities in NY, Rochester, Buffalo, etc... they can drive to them to see them, and they know the state well enough to feel comfortable.Most of the rust belt cities in NY offer cash flow as well. 

I may take 100 photos, but I'll only send them enough to give them a taste, then I let them know I have plenty more.
