I have some experience with real estate, I bought a house years ago in a market that matured rapidly over the last 2 years and now I'm ready to tackle my interests on the investment side of the house.  

@Bonnie Low -- I recommend having your real estate agent reach out to the listing agent or to the agents for people who recently purchased nearby homes that also require flood insurance to see how they tackled the insurance issue.

Real estate has always been a second passion of mine watching HGTV since in the womb and tackling diy projects.

Is there a way of tackling these to ensure that a good deal is agreed to.I have seen one not too far from my town on zillow - and I understand that its a negotiation with the bank and the seller, but how could one be creative about such deals:Is it something that one could consider a percentage offering of the requested price, minus the potential rehab work required.  

I want to tackle replacing the water lines to the kitchen sink myself and have a couple of questions, how do I connect the new CPVC lines to the old galvanized lines at the point where I will be cutting out the old galvanized line?

Be realistic with your price point and amount of work you're willing to tackle and go from there.
