It is really simple, I had my realtor get CMA's for all of the properties that I was protesting.

You can protest your property taxes yourself or have an appointed officer during the protest period that does not cost you anything.

However, make sure the numbers are good before buying, do not forget to look at the taxes and please if you buy in the area PROTEST your taxes every year. 

Simply protesting your property taxes and having them lowered will increase your IRR, so look into all aspect of the deal if you can.

Our  State also says the past owners have 3 years to protest losing their land.
