Pulling up some pieces and then repositioning them so that it doesn't look patched, together with some closet pieces, might do the trick.Otherwise, I would pull up a bunch of the flooring right at the entrance and tile it in order to make it more weather proof, although much of the laminate flooring these days is very hardy and weatherproof already.

Apparently, someone from the company went to look at the house and determined that the roof has some green mesh in some spots, some tiles are curled up and had some patches.

Their main concern is roof, electrical or water damage on an older home when there was a patch instead of having the entire roofing, electrical or plumbing system replaced.

So the road was paved, and a month later $250k worth of asphalt was ripped open to start installing water and sewer lines, and a nice ugly patch got to cover the cut.
