I would assume most other large military bases have similar economics, at least the ones that are economically isolated. smaller bases or bases that are next to real cities won't have the same dramatic effect (nellis afb, fort carson, Macdill afb).

I think this whole topic is very important, and though technology has done amazing things for us, its also isolated us.It is so unbelievably important to meet people in person, break bread with them, get to know them, see if you have things in common to build a relationship over.Business cards are just the tip of this face to face iceberg, they are not as important, but what they represent and all the big events and meetings i've attended, they are still relevant.It's easy to just fire off an email or text nowadays.. face to face BUILDS relationships!

@Ian ParrishMaking 1 loan to a non-disqualified person in isolation is fine, but that is not what you suggested.I think it is more commendable for providers to point out possible prohibited transactions than it is for them downplay their importance or take a risky position on what is allowable.

I've had similar such experiences out of state ... the difference was that I DID have property managers and this sort of thing STILL happened way too regularly ... not just an isolated incident with one PM either ...
