Inertia has to be overcome. 

This isn't a post dedicated to excuses per se, but rather its about barriers (both mental and financial) that I need to overcome in order to expand my real estate portfolio. 

In my opinion, overcoming a hesitancy to take risk is better than having to overcome the willingness to take on too much risk.

I came here to accept a colleague request (which is the only notification I have left turned on), I then saw an article that the colleague had commented on, then saw this thread, and then attempted to help a new investor to overcome the discouragement they were receiving from finding a 2-4 unit, as finding a 2-4 unit is very doable. 

(if you have one)- You're in your 40's so it's time to start thinking about being more risk adverse.

A fundamental principle of taking another's property for taxes in Alabama is fair notice by adverse possession,  three years of this notice in fact. 

I'm wondering if whether putting down a lot of money up front will help us overcome our bad DTI ratio when trying to get financing.

@Patrick MenefeeI hear you there, especially in this economy, with the housing market where it is at and in your community, it is definitely a challenge to overcome. 

That is a tenant objection, but it will be overcome with a few more showings.  

Simply by finding and posting on BP, she has shown the ability to manage adversity and dissect it into manageable pieces in order to overcome it.
