Having "squatter rights" for NY residences is like having "shoplifter rights" in our stores.In the article you referenced, they talk about the squatter showing up to court representing himself.

My recommendation is that you also speak with a real estate attorney that regularly represents investors - you need a game plan going forward on how to structure your current and future investments.

This makes the claims and litigation process easier because the PM and landlord are represented by the same insurance company.

And almost all of these brokers are representing big name companies like SRS, Marcus & Millichap, Horvarth... etc. 

@Paul Welden Paul, I plan on using around 10-12k of my savings on a down payment + closing (will escape buyer agent costs as I'll be representing myself.)

These companies don't want to pay out so I'm sure they have a good legal staff that will represent you.

After I bought something from a company, a telemarketer representing that organization called me.

I am focusing my time on my investing journey, therefore I am not representing anyone or acting as an agent when wholesaling.
