I like the diversification of income.

Its about diversification and cash flow.When one buys a sf rental for lets say $200,000, and it rents for say $1500/month.

I did not exclude real estate as that was part of my diversification. 

Some are looking to build wealth, some are looking for capital preservation, some are speculating, some are looking for diversification and some think they need a tax deduction.

It allows you however, to invest 100% of your net worth – ten TD’s in this case.I suppose it's a judgement call but 100% of net worth in one asset class could easily be seen as lack of diversification therefore a basis for broker disqualifying a potential TD investor.

@Robert Steele For me, diversification is important.

You would really have to be at a point at which you're looking for market diversification.

@Karen Margrave I agree that diversification is good and to invest based on the local markets, I just feel that the signs are to big to ignore.

I like diversification and for us that is owning in different states.
