In Colorado, it is 3 years and you get a Treasurer's Deed and a non-marketable (for 7 years) title so in this state you can sell it as-is or file a quiet title.

Usually the tax defaulted land sales are done through the county, more specifically the county tax collector or treasurer.

We got a "County Treasurer's Resale Deed" for each property after the sale(in about 1 week).

If I were you I would start by going down to your local municipality or treasure's office and just ask if they have a list of properties that weren't bought at auction.

I only just joined here a couple of months ago, and I've found it to be an absolute treasure trove of info.

Contact the County Adminsitrator or what ever the officeis that handles estates and wards of the county/state, it's not the collector's office.Alsocontact the Secretary of sftate and Treasurer, for dormant accounts and unclaimed assets.

When you can get on the board and become the treasurer if possible.
