This is my favorite, you have to be a member but the first meeting you attend you can come check it out for the price of dinner $25 (yes it does include the dinner so come hungry).

I'm definitely into signing up for those though my only free nights i have a few meetings / dinners set up with investors and agents I already know in the area to get started.  

For example, I have had to leave my husbands birthday dinner before to get something handled.  

As I said at dinner I think posting on BP and being active is so valuable.

I would much rather have the gift card to dinner as more of a token of appreciation rather than payment for services. 

Our saving grace on the buy-and-hold side is solid, reliable appreciation.I don't know Detroit personally, but I recently spent 3 days at an investor's retreat with 2 big players from Detroit, and based on their instructional presentation and dinner conversations, From what Robert & Frank shared with us, the situation in Detroit couldn't be more different from Charleston.  

You could even do like "steak dinner on me" and give them a 100 gift card to a nice steak house.
