If you do, your chances of real estate investing success are greatly multiplied.My recommendation of getting a mentor is purely because I hate seeing sincere, regular people spend their last dollar on a huckster who is only after their money.

In fact, I apologize (sincerely) for even implying I had a right to do that.All I'll say is that if you need to charge $500 for a four hour job ($125/hour) just to break even on the job, you're probably not a contractor that a typical investor would ever use.

I sincerely believe it was an opportunity once in a life time based on the data I had researched and compiled.

When they say these things at our Massachusetts REIA, I just bite my tongue and hope they didn't get skinned too bad from the latest "Pickie Duster" guru who came through town.Oh the other Newbie sign is that they want to build a TEAM and set up an LLC.When I do meet someone starting out, because I do engage them before and at the beginning of our meetings, and if they're sincere and willing to work at it, I'll have them speak to someone who IS doing it.
