(C) By filing a consent-to-jurisdiction document as described under division (A)(4) of this section, the person giving the consent makes and constitutes the secretary of state as an agent for service of process in this state including service of summonses and subpoenas.

When an attorney looks up the assets that an investor owns (in the secretary of states website because that's one place where assets are recorded via the chain up through the county records), your investment properties (if not in an LLC)  or PERSONAL residence are on that database. 

The occasional issue is that I have to have my secretary call one of them as their credit card changed & we couldn't run it to get the rent.

To form a Series LLC I will form a Certificate of Formation which is filed with the Secretary of State, and following that formation you will receive a single EIN for the Series LLC. 

I just need secretarial assistance by a company with experience in drafting the documents.  

This would assume you have an LLC but its really easy to create one with the Texas Secretary of State...meaning, you don't have to pay an attorney to do it. 

Secretary at a law firm is a total pain as well.

Everything from lower tax burden to reduced oversight.I've also read things about you not actually saving on taxes because of what your taxed in the state you do business in, or issues with the Secretary of State.Does anyone have any insight on this?

Localities qualify as Opportunity Zones if they have been nominated for that designation by the state and that nomination has been certified by the Secretary of the U.S.
