The repair requires new aluminum to be installed on the fascia that is above the 2nd floor level on a gable end. 

I replace them rather than spending time attempting to clean or repair.For nicer units, I purchase custom aluminum blinds from selectblinds.com.

We have quartz countertops, bifold aluminum doors (4 large open doors), beautiful new kitchen with crown molding cabinets, waterfall kitchen island, ancient stone wall in our living room, all hardwood floors, etc. they are comparing my house to houses with carpet, old cabinets/kitchen, etc.

My rentals are in the northern suburbs outside of Chicago and south Eastern Wisconsin.  

I also paid for the hardwood floors to be refinished and the exterior aluminum siding to be painted and repaired.

The average home has maybe 4" of insulation in the attic and aluminum storm windows.

I know Oregon is low simply because of the Columbia basin and all the hydro.. that's why there used to be so many aluminum manufactures and my daughter works at Intel and its one reason they built their 10 b fab plant and looks like they are going to start another 10 b one.. that company almost single handedly keeps Oregon viable.

What the companies are looking to see on an older home are:1. when was the Roof, Electric, Plumbing, & Heating last updated2. that there is no Knob & Tube or Aluminum wiring3. on rentals, that the house has a lead safe certificateOne thing that you should should be looking at is the valuation.
