A way to look at it could be to find buyers first and figure out their buy box and after that go out and hunt for deals for them and run it by them when you find something.

As a property manager I've built up a rolodex of reliable professionals that I provide for all my clients, however in self-managing you will have to invest some of the time in finding those professionals for yourself.

Hey @Tori Rhodes - As a builder myself here in Chicago that is a question I hear often.Before looking into your loan options, I'd look long and hard at the cost of land and construction in your Grand Rapids area. 

But, then you still have your Indiana LLCs and Indiana is a much more business-friendly state.You would have to be in one heck of a lawsuit for someone to want to try to break through both.

Starting in your 30's is in some cases better in that you are more mature and disciplined about saving and settled.
