I think this can vary greatly based on the renters not only in a particular city or zip code, but right down to a neighborhood.Generally speaking, most investor convo around this is still thinking in terms of a nuclear family and it is possible to find places where that is not your demographic.

Either way, I would only do this month-to-month and not for any guaranteed/long-term period of time, for the reason I previously mentioned (they could easily return to work, at which point they should resume paying the full rent).Another option, if you don't think they will be able to pay the rent but you think you could easily re-rent the place for full rent, is to offer to let them out of the lease.
