They can at least see your possession date on your HUD and know you did not accrue the 6 years of dues since you've only owned the property for a year.

I generally have possession of the property terminate at or before noon for the outgoing tenant and begin around 4 or 5pm for the incoming tenant.

Unfortunately, there would be no way for them to get permit for addition or pool with that in place, so they chose another property rather than tracking down owner or dealing with adverse possession in 1.5 years when it meets the state time period.
