Hundreds of miles of beautiful coastline.

I've continuously had two questions since the start of this disaster - -with all the plate shift and tectonic activity on the ocean floor, why don't oil leaks like this ever occur naturally (guess we are just poking holes pretty darn deep where they're not supposed to be, perhaps the sheer mass of the colliding and stretching plates contains these pockets)-what would our attitude and reaction be if some other country had this going on - it will affect the rest of the world even if it's only ever visible on our coastlines

California is a HUGE state with a very long coastline, and various priced markets along the coast that have beautiful scenery, from the giant Redwoods and ocean with rock outcroppings, and lush greenery (site of Jurassic Park movies)  of the northern coastal areas of Humboldt and Del Norte counties, down to San Diego, etc.

People will always choose to live close to work if possible, and will only seek outskirt areas like Plumas Lake, Yuba City, etc. if that's their only option.But in general, people will be moving inward from the coast line to the Central Valley and beyond, and people who can't afford to major bumps in rent and housing prices in the metro areas will move to the outskirt areas and commute, causing secondary bumps in markets like Plumas Lake and Yuba City.It's a little harder to predict the outcome for smaller markets like that because it's not even on the radar of any major research efforts to give you some solid stats. 

Took some decent vacations but nothing spectacular. 

I have family in that area so I'm quite familiar with that stretch of coastline.

Spectacular debate...

My agent stated, "I would be amazed if they don't buy it".Have two more showings upcoming and the feedback from everyone, agents, neighbors, open house visitors has all been spectacular.

We're working with some investors that are having spectacular success with short term rentals. 

It tends to be foreigners who are willing to take on the expense and hassle of renovations, particularly for properties away from the coastline.
