Since the former method may well require probate to perfect title from 'A' to 'B' subject to the CFD, spouse has a sticky wicket to deal with.

As far as the flooring goes for hardwood you can use engineered and then glue it down long nasty sticky process but that's how it's done and for baseboards I use construction adhesive and 2" tapcon screws every 16"-24" depending on how straight the walls are on cabinets you could do same as baseboard or use redheads that would be my suggestion

Julio,If the city gets involved, it's going to be an extremely sticky situation.City of LA provides a Certificate of Occupancy, so look into it. 

foundation, check the door jambs and see if you have sticky doors too

Those of us (three of the four participants) who might be doing some of the work are experienced contractors in our areas of expertise, but I see how that could get sticky.

I like the idea of partnerships and pooling funds but whenever you get into partnerships it can get sticky. 

Hi @Dennis Rodriguez I am a bit open to different areas in Houston, but particularly would prefer inside the loop (Heights/Washington, Rice Village, Midtown, areas).

I'm not sure what that looks like but it's always sticky if things don't work out.
