That's a prohibited transaction and the result is that the IRA is immediately considered to be distributed in its entirety and you're immediately responsible for taxes (and penalties, if applicable.)If you're over 59 1/2, then you can start taking withdrawls.If you mean how can you best invest your IRA to generate the maximum returns, then that's a holy grail of investing.Now there are Solo 401k accounts and ways to arrange an IRA to start a business and that might have a way for you to get paid by the business, if that's what you mean.

Also 401k loans are risky as well, even if you get the interest, if you leave the company you're at you have to pay back the entirety of the loan within a short time period, again hope you have cash set aside for that... the better advice would just be to keep his money in the 401k, start contributing to a roth 401k instead of traditional and lower the amount, and then saving additional money on the side for real estate.

I haven't read it in it's entirety but it would be along the lines of taking missed payments, creating a second lien to dump the missed payments into (instead of doing a foreclosure) and have a period of time (6 months ?)

I explained this rather clear I thought, that the term "cash offer" was, originally, an acronym for how we used to submit an offer in it's entirety MEANING no inspection contingency, no appraisal contingency, often times covering seller closing.
