I came across a property the other day in rural Baltimore County Maryland, actually an abandon driveway leading to lord knows what.

You have to be very, very careful with personal possessions in Chicago as the land lord tenant ordinance can be frustratingly tenant friendly.

The real kicker is that if the rents are super low because a land lord hasn't fixed the place up, the self sufficiency guidelines only allows you to use the current rents, not the market rents.

But it completely makes sense on a 'used' (lord, what's the term when it comes to houses) vs a new build where you need to furnish it completely.

@Paxson B Hightower If you don't like land-lording, there are other ways to invest in real estate like notes, flips, etc...
