Since the circumstances here are rare I believe the entirety of the overall circumstances would indeed be the test used to decide who's rents I'm holding and who must pay taxes on those rents, if my actions in this regard are ever litigated in tax court.In regard to the properties involved in this post I manage each property almost as though it were my own (except I do minimal improvements because improvements are not reimbursable if an owner reclaims his/her property).

Our lease also says, "If the notice is given later than required, Rent is due for the entirety of the renewal term" The notice should have been given to us in end of April and we understand there was a lot on uncertainty because of COVID-19.
