IMO killeen is a solid investment. just have to watch which areas you are getting into. there are some pretty rough areas near fort hood but killeen is great because it is close enough to austin and people commute from there to austin as well. with fort cavazos near by and the new samsung plant coming online in taylor, it is a solid choice with steady demand for MF.

My longest recent rehab was 2.25 months and added a half bathroom, took down 4 walks including load bearing, put up 3 walls, new plumbing, electrical, flooring, huge percentage of drywall, an eye brow porch, new kitchen with full layout change and new bathroom with full layout change.

I would say anytime you can add value in real estate through taking a distressed property and fixing it up and adding value it is a good choice whether its for investment or primary ownership purposes.
