(Besides, everyone in LA is an actor or a real estate agent - or plays both on tv...)I don't know if that theory is true or not but I have often wondered if I would be more profitable at wholesaling (due to volume) if my market was in Phoenix like Sean Terry, or Jacksonville like Ron LeGrand, Memphis like Kent Clothier, or even Tampa like Preston.

The Midwest is my pick.Especially Ohio and Michigan.Still lots of value here.With the media pimping "high unemployment" and "declining population" most institutional investors are still sleeping which is good for us smaller operators as we get to pick and choose.I feel like a kid in candy store lol.Just bought one for $25,000 that needs $20,000 in work and will sell for $100,000+Happy Days :)

Some of the less expensive (<$500) ways to start marketing: Website, bandit signs, hand-written yellow letters, postcards, door hangers, business cards (that I hand out like candy), fliers...I'm getting started on a shoestring myself and, if you take out the $1000 direct-mail campaign I'm doing, I've spent less than $500 and have had half a dozen leads and one potential deal on the cooker.
