Personally I prefer single family homes around that median price because that's where the most demand will be not only for owner occupants but renters as well.

My preference would have been for AB1482 to have specified how long the unit must be off market (example 12 months), but it does not.If the units need rehab and you are planning on rehabbing the unit, this would be better rationale unless you truly plan to keep the units off market for an extended period of time.

The last few STR deals I closed where my client used a second home loan, they ended up putting down 20-25%, preferring to have more equity in the property versus giving away thousands in fees to the lender.
