Both...maybe you have the ability to purchase a simple property near the college and househack with other students. If not, learn about REI in the meantime and prepare yourself. A degree may just get you a good W2 job which could provide fuel for REI and then go full time when you have built up your company. The degree has not only given you an advantage because it is education and knowledge, but it will always be there as you need it.

$41k plus interest going into a vehicle that is not a necessity...when is a vehicle ever a necessity at that price? You are focused on liabilities and not growing assets. There goes your money for REI or any investment. $10k sounds better for a vehicle and it will probably get you around just fine. I haven't had a car payment for a long time and my vehicles are still good and will be for a while.

I believe you should finish your degree, especially if it is in business. REI is a business and should be treated as a business. The education should help you become more effective and efficient in REI which makes your degree an investment. Besides, it will always be nice to have a degree to fall back on. Why not buy a property and house hack with other students to help pay for the degree? Just an idea. Tim

REI provides me the opportunity to go into business for myself and create something from the bottom up. I lets me know that I can succeed on my own accord and being my own boss. What better opportunity is there in this life than to start a company and rely on your own merits? Could I go into another industry than REI? Sure, but I enjoy buildings, housing, and the comfort of my own home. I have always been excited for a new rental or home purchase in my life...very exciting. I want to provide this feeling to others through REI.

Your primary residence, if you bought one, could be a rental property as well with a little house hacking...
