Thank you for all of the advice! This is a hard decision even with all of the advice. On the one hand I want to have as much capital now to start out real estate career. I know we will need a few thousand each to get started so that money she is investing would defiantly help. But on the other hand it's "free money" from the company she is working for. I think for now she will keep investing in the 401(k) until we are officially licensed and working agents.

Hello Don! Thank you for reaching out. I actually used to live in North Carolina, over in Jacksonville. My big question is should I open an LLC before joining my brokerage in June? I have seen some realtors have their own companies inside their brokerage. What would be the biggest advantage of opening an llc vs just belonging to the brokerage?

Hello all! I am debating with my wife as to whether or not to contribute to her 401(k) we are both in real estate school and are going to become real agents. I will be a full time agent as soon as I get my license and she will be working full time while I get established. So should she continue to contribute or just save the money for our new business expenses .

Hello all! I am a new resident in the greater Athens area (formerly lived in Gwinnett) and I am currently attending real estate school with Keller Williams and should graduate in June. I am looking to build my network in this area with Agents, lenders, contractors or anybody else somewhere in the realm of real estate. I have been on bigger pockets for over a year, but have yet to really get involved. SO NOW IS THE TIME. I look forward to connecting!

It seems that there are so many options. I am working on forming a real estate LLC with some other veterans in my area. But before we actually acquire a home to rent out, we where looking into wholselling in order to generate some quick capital. The problem is we are unsure of where to locate the buyers.
