Thank you so much for all of your feedback, I appreciate it!

I already have an EIN for a different business i am doing as a sole proprietor. Do i have to request a new EIN for the real estate rentals or only 1 EIN is provided to 1 person and it can be used for multiple businesses?

Since when i registered for EIN last year, i provided my business info so i am thinking my EIN is linked to my business. so just wondering when people have multiple businesses as time progresses, do they use the same EIN or should i apply for a new one?

Hello,

I am still new to the real estate area. I am an out of sate investor and recently purchased a property in 2018. My property is managed by a small property management company of 2 people. They have asked me to submit a W-9 form so they can issue a 1099 to me. I am not sure if i am ok in sharing sensitive information like SSN . So i wanted to check with other investors whose property is managed by a PM.

1) Does your property manager ask for W9 to be filled so they can issue a 1099 to you?

2) Is this a common practice? if there is any info you can point me so i can research further it will be great.

Just not sure how safe it is to provide my SSN. The PM company mentioned that the have recently started using buildium software to manage properties and as part of that for the first time they are requesting all of their investors to provide W9.

@Snehann Kapnadak - Did you go with shawn huss at chemical bank? will be great if you can share your experience. Thank you
