Post: Can you use a heloc for a mortgage?

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give insight into my situation. We own two homes - one we rent and the other we live in. We would like to move out of the current house we live in, rent it out and buy another home to live in (need more space and looking at another location). However we do not want to sell our current home as it is in a high appreciation area. Can we use our equity in these homes as downpayment for the next? Also my husband said that we need to show a rental history for one year before we are able to buy another place - is that true? Any way around this? Thanks, Sheeva

Hi everyone!

I wanted to get everyone's thoughts about the Philadelphia real estate market? Would love to learn what people think about accumulating cash flow positive properties and building a real estate portfolio either in the city or suburbs of Philadelphia. Anything in particular that we should be aware about in this area? How is it overall for starting a real estate portfolio - it seems at least the price of entry is reasonable.

Thanks for your input!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to get peoples sense on the Pittsburg/Antioch area. What type of reputation does this area have and how has it been changing? I am wondering about average demographic and if the area in general is felt to be growing.

When you look at a population map, that has one of the highest populations in the East Bay area but I didn't know much about the area.

Hoping for some advice, thank!

Yes I did think about it. But on a 1.2 million place, with cost of mortgage taxes hoa fees total month to month cost will be about 6k. It’s a four bedroom. I’m thinking we can get maybe 4K in rent. That’s where the negative 2k per month comes in to play.

Hi everyone,

If you had 200k in cash and wanted to create a maximal cash flow positive investment, what would you do? And where would you do it?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

How about Bakersfield, CA?
