I think your doing great, saving money and not having much debt.  if this is your passion and dream do it!  Life is to short.  Doing this when you are you, you have plenty of time to settle down later.  Meanwhile life can not be 100% grind.

If your mortgage was $1000 and now you house hack and even got $500 from a tenant it would beat paying $1000.  The tenant helps pay down your mortgage.  It does not seem like alot to some people but for others this would be a game changer.

You can rent a room to someone as long as you occupy the building.

I would not say no to investing in Chicago.  But be careful of where you purchase. I am Chicago native born and raised. I am a Realtor here.  Make sure to either come here when looking or have trusted boots on the ground to look for you.

Good Morning and thank you for sharing this.  I have been looking at NWI for investments for a bit.  I agree Indiana is often overlooked even though the taxes are lower and I see more opportunities to cash flow.

I am a licensed Realtor, and I here this all the time. I think some of it is just bad agents and for some they lack good communication skills.  I answer all my calls instantly or within the hour.  We are our business.  It is a shame that the poor work ethics of the bad agents makes us all look bad.  I hope you get the responses you are looking for.

Just be mindful of the numbers, and go with your gut.  Maybe it works and maybe it wont. I am not an Airbnb fan. I am not into the hospitality of it. I would rather fully rent out a 2-4 flat and have less hands on investing.  But you might really fall in love with Airbnb.

Good Luck!
