Hello @Kevin Loh, its a shame nobody has replied to this. I'm in the same boat as you. I have been looking for decent areas (low crimes, good schools) with houses less than 100k to flip (may be hold). I have been looking at Long Island and Northern NY areas. You might be interested in Poughkeepsie, NY but i'm not sure because the crime rates scare me a little. Some houses there are spectacular. There are some colleges as well so could be looking at student housing. You can get SFRs for less than 100k and MFRs for 150k and up.

Hope that helps. Would love to know your views on this area too.

How did you find out about the vacancy rate? I've been looking for that kind of number for many other areas but have no idea where to get it from. Thank you in advance.

How do you find real estate agents who also invest? I haven't had any luck in that scenario. Also, it seems like agents are limited to the information they can give us.

I noticed the days on the market for LI properties are quite long. If you think different, do correct me.

Thanks for the info guys. I live in Queens and have been looking in that area to invest. This will be my first investment so I'm cautious. The return looks a lot better than its possible in Brooklyn or Queens though.
