Seeking a referral to a financial advisor to help roll over a ~$325k 401(k) into a self-directed IRA with checkbook control, with the aim of acquiring rental property. Looking for somebody with direct experience in this sort of structure.

Thanks for any suggestions.

@Nicklaus McCain You don’t necessarily have to start with a smaller organization unless you want to. Many of the large institutional developers and REITs have internship programs, and start entry-level staff in analyst positions. It’s a good way to get your hands on Argus runs and see how large projects work from the inside. Given your degree and background, you should be able to find something if you poke around on LinkedIn, especially if you’re willing to relocate.

You might also talk to the people who run the master of real estate program at UW - they should have a book of local referrals and friends of the program you could access.

Good luck.
