@Andre Nainggolan  I sent some questions to some companies that were claiming to pay people for the piggybacking, but I never got any responses back from them.  So in all honestly, it kind of just fell to the wayside.  I'd be curious though if anybody else here has done any experimenting with it?  I did add my husband on to several of my accounts as an authorized user and it did seem to help his score a little bit.

I did manage to find a little bit more on this stuff.  BoostMyScore/cardholders and here's a report about piggybacking and the legality of it, if anybody would like to read it, it's a pdf file about 20+ pages long PDF

@Julia Shevchenko  Did he mention how to go about advertising this? It might be better to do this on my own rather than through a company...Less Risky.  Did he say it was a temporary boost?  It seems it would be a permanent boost as that information will be on their credit report forever.  I have credit cards still showing on my credit report that have been closed for years.

@Jacob Pereira I think it still needs a little more investigating before I do this...but, my goal for rentals is about $150-200/door/month cash flow, that would be roughly equivalent to having a a 4 plex cash flowing, without having to acquire anything..I'll keep everybody posted if I find anything new out or decide to do it! :)

@Jay Hinrichs well I wouldn't be jeopardizing my credit cards with my low interest and high limits...but I have a few cards that I was thinking about closing anyways that have zero balances on..if I were to do it, I'd use those cards and make sure I watch them closely just in case. If some how, somebody started spending on them (which doesn't really seem like it could happen since they can't get my info) I would shut it down. If for some reason they wanted to close the account for me adding authorized users, it's not a big deal to me, as I was thinking of closing them anyways...they are not cards that I use or have used in years..but they show a solid history of good payments and they have been open a long time. Did you read the thread that was posted?

@Daniel Chang   I think I'll try and investigate the company a bit more, and hopefully talk with Mr Charlie Prior about his experiences..But all in all after reading his posts on the subject, it really sounds pretty good!! I mean..We are all looking for passive income, right? :)  This sounds like a pretty easy way to get it. I think I may just test the waters a little and see how it goes!

@Frank Jiang Thank you for posting that! I read the thread and it actually sounds like it may not be that risky after all..Definitely something to think about!

@Jay Hinrichs From what I read they could close your account for adding too many authorized users to the account.  That's another thing I don't think I would want to jeapordize..having my credit accounts shut down...I have quite a few with pretty high limits and interest rates under 8% I'd be pretty upset if they closed my account on me.

@Kyle J.  I was wondering about that myself.  If they were able to get a copy of their credit report showing the new account that does seem like a possibility.  Good point.  It definitely seems a bit too risky.  I don't think it would be worth it if something like that were to happen..that's for sure.

@Jay Hinrichs  Yeah, it seems to be a bit sketchy..lol  I'm just glad I decided to post here on BP before doing anything stupid.  Ya know, if it sounds too good to be true..it generally is.  :/

Although, I have done a lot of research on piggybacking.  It's not illegal.  But it is generally used for kids that don't have any credit...they are added to their parents credit cards as authorized users in essence giving them good credit right out the gate!
