Welcome to BP, Gregg! I've been a member, trying to get my feet wet, for a couple of months. I'm looking to purchase properties to rehab and resell. So far I haven't found the right deal, but as I ramp up I know I'll get one hooked up.

There really is a wealth of information, especially the podcasts, here at BP. I'd recommend listening to as many of them as possible.

In the future, if I can be of any help give me a shout. Gook Luck!

@Darren Eady Welcome! I'm just getting started with real estate. I'll keep your contact info and look you up when a need arises.

I'm just getting started, so this is great question. I'm looking for good list sources too.

Does anyone know of a good general contractor in the Salt Lake City area that will work with investors looking to rehab and resell homes?

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that commissions are a realtors lifeblood. I certainly don't want take away from them, but before I commit to a realtor for a transaction I want to make sure they're the type of realtor I want to work with. I'll try contacting some other realtors and see what happens there.

How do you avoid having to sign a realtor contract when trying to use them to see short sale and pre-foreclosure property? The property I'm interested in is bank owned and open for bids. Before bidding I want to assess the house's condition. The realtor won't show it without me signing them to be my realtor.
