The Male Perspective to Home Ownership

Typically, men only think of buying a house when they're ready to start a family. It’s a practical thought. Why buy all that space when you only go home to sleep and watch TV? That may be the case for most men but there are some who’d like to challenge that thinking and see things the other way around.

In this article I'd like to give you the rundown of what perks owning a house can give you. Buying or owning a house requires cash, lots of it. And it can only mean that you have a steady and high paying job, which means you’re a responsible person, which makes you an Alpha male in the eyes of women.

Next, real estate is a pretty solid investment. Ten, twenty years down the road and the value of your house will steadily go up. You can sell it then, and buy yourself a new one. Then, having your own place means no landlords to knock on your door every payday asking for rent which you’ve already spent on the new bar that just opened a block from the office.

Another benefit of having a place of your own is you can invite friends and family over and they don’t have to sleep on the couch or on the floor. Houses nowadays rarely have rooms fewer than three and you can actually rent them out if you’re a little business minded.

Another perk is the parking space. Now you can think of buying that Porsche you saw on the office magazine the other day and not worry about where to safely tuck it in. And going back to perk number one, a beautiful house and a flashy sports car is an absolute lady killer combo.

 Not convinced yet?

Here’s some more: home owners are statistically happier than those who just rent their places. They are more secure, not just financially, but emotionally as well. They are more likely to succeed in whatever they wish to pursue in life because they are more confident and relaxed. They’re also healthier and more stress-free than people who rent as they can cook their own meals at home rather than having to eat out all the time in unhealthy restaurants.

Lastly, owning a house gives you a sense of satisfaction that all your work and sacrifices have all paid off and at the end of every day; you can always stand at your doorsteps and admire what you have accomplished and say to yourself, “I did it!”

  1. I love the "sleep on the floor comment." If that's not a reason to buy a home I don't know what is.
