US Home prices forecast to rise 5.2 percent

Fresh data out from CoreLogic shows National YOY Home Prices Increased 6.3 Percent in September 2016

http://insightsapp.corelogic.com/api/v1/blog/article/625

Highlights:

  • Home prices forecast to rise 5.2 percent over the next year.
  • The highest appreciation was in the West, with Oregon and Washington growing by double digits in September.  (West Coast is the best coast?)
  • After adjusting for inflation, (national) home prices are still 19.1 percent below their peak
  • What I found most interesting was the graph on price segments.  It shows that the lower price points have fully recovered while middle price points still have a way to go before reaching their former peak.

Later, I'll be posting about California specific forecasts.
