The reason why artificial turf is beneficial during a drought and during El Nino is its ability to conserve waterReal estate professionals should realize the devastation to the real estate market when drought and El Nino create water shortages.  This article explains how artificial turf can reduce water shortages if used in global commercial and residential areas.

Water scarcity is a global environment problem.  According to The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), which is a 2015 report on the last decade of water availability, the scarcity of water is both a human-created phenomenon and a natural occurrence.  Sadly, the world’s population is outgrowing the available earth’s water supply.

We cannot depend upon political policymakers and governments to guarantee the availability of our planet’s water supply.  Humans have the option to conserve water during droughts. Humans need to be more water consumption conscious.  We must examine our individual water usages and water waste.

Increased artificial turf usage can help with water conservation.Artificial turf is defined as the usage of synthetic fibers to appear as natural grass.  Artificial turf is also known as “synthetic turf”.  Individuals can replace their natural grass lawns with artificial turf which does not require watering.  Entire communities can be involved with replacing grass on baseball and football and even soccer fields with synthetic turf to eliminate watering completely.

Using artificial turf in both commercial and residential settings in small communities will save thousands of gallons of water every month.  If this can be done worldwide, the shortage of water can be solved.

Conclusion

Artificial turf is beneficial during a drought and during El Nino by replacing natural grass and eliminating the need for watering which can solve the water shortage problem.

  1. The shortage of water is becoming a global problem affecting real estate markets.  Every Realtor, real estate agent, and other real estate professionals should become involved with finding a solution to droughts and water shortages.  Installing more artificial turfs in place of natural grass can help.
