I Now Have a Mentor

The meeting with my high school classmate went well. My biggest worry before meeting with him was thinking that I would sound like an idiot using words like rehabbing, flips, bandit signs, etc...The funny thing is he used those exact words and all the other words I've read from the BiggerPockets site. He told me about his experience, how he got started, what "guru" systems he bought in the past and how his first deal went. He, like many others, did everything wrong on the first deal (a wholesale deal) and in the end, he was more than happy he made a $2500 profit. He said it could have easily been a loss and he learned a lot from it. 

After a couple hours of talk, he asked me what I would be comfortable doing and what my plan was. He confirmed everything I thought I had learned and before I let him, told me to call him anytime and he would be happy to walk through my first deal with me, take a look at the numbers to see if he thought it was a good deal or anything that might come up. Sounds like I got me a mentor and a little more confidence in the game.
