The Chamber Chronicles: A Lull and Listing to Review
Good morning Tony…
There are times when my music teaching and playing jobs interfere with my Chamber involvement. This was one of those weeks. The Chamber had a mixer on Thursday while I was helping students discover the true excitement of playing live music. I love teaching and playing music, but realize it is not the most sensible way to prepare for retirement. I’d much prefer to play and teach because they are fun things to do as opposed to “needing the money.” The good thing in real estate was the information I received from the real estate agent I mentioned last week.
He sent me various MFR listings which I scoured. Most did not make the first cut because of their location and the fact that my family and I will occupy one of the units. There is a duplex that is very intriguing. My wife and I will drive by the property this weekend. I expect we will make an offer to tie the property up!
Candidly, I much prefer a four plex, but know that four plexes on the MLS are in my home town’s war zones. That is not a place for my family. This duplex can be our entry into the world of being a landlord. This first one has been a challenge because of the family’s need for a decent place to live. I fully expect to be more open to a lot of properties once we are settled into our first MFR.
Chamber membership is a longevity game. This was a slow week. There are more events coming up this month that I can get my networking on! I will miss a few while I am in Peru supporting a musical ministry team.
That is about all there is to write this time.
Again, “That is my rumor, and I am sticking to it!”
