ISO: Quality Handyman
Looking for contractors/handymen on Craigslist. The drawback of living in a smaller town is having less choices.
As our rentals stabilized, we were throwing less work to our handyman, and we fell on his priority list. It’s understandable, I don’t blame him.
But we aren’t very handy, so leaves us in a pinch. This week Bruce was watching youtube videos on leaky faucets to avoid finding someone to hire.
Wish we could hire the maintenance component of property management and keep the tenant selection/paperwork/tenant relations component. I can understand how that isn’t a win-win for the PM though.
We signed another property over to our flakey PM.
I interviewed customers of the other leading PM company and starting looking harder at other options, and they did not seem better. It was trading one headache for another, with less cash flowing into our pockets. So Bruce prevailed, he is now meeting with the current PM periodically to try to run interference, and I’m still looking for some quality labor so that we don’t have to sign them all over just yet…
