Life in SouthWood, Tallahassee

SouthWood has everything that I have ever wanted in a community.  It is a special place unlike any other in Tallahassee.  SouthWood is spread out over 3,200 lush green acres.  Old live oaks explode out of the ground, their thick strong limbs provide shade & beauty for all of the residents to enjoy.  Why has SouthWood been so attractive to it's residents?  I think the answer is the lifestyle that you and your family enjoy when you live here.

Here is a quick break down of some of the activities that you can enjoy with your family in SouthWood:

  1. The Art of Living, this is not really a single activity but rather a series of community events planned by St. Joe for adults and kids to enjoy, the purpose of these events is to give all the residents in SouthWood a chance to meet new people, and have fun as a family.  I will be covering all the upcoming events on this Blog.   Past events include an incredible 4th of July fireworks display
  2. SouthWood Town Center with restaurants and YMCA fitness center, all within walking distance from most homes in SouthWood.
  3. Championship Fred Couples/Gene Bates designed golf course,  SouthWood golf club was also named to Golf Digest's list of "America's Best New Courses," selected by GOLF Magazine as one of the top 35! public courses out of 325 nationwide  to open in 2002, and named Tallahassee's best golf course by Tallahassee Magazine.
  4. Miles of walking and biking trails.
  5. Great Schools.
  6. Community center with huge pool overlooking central park and the pristine live oaks that Tallahassee is so well know for.
  7. Tennis courts.
  8. 1000 acres of protected green parks, wetlands and wildlife sanctuaries.
