WHAT I LEARNED FROM PEOPLE LIKE TOM BRADY

Before this last Super Bowl I knew absolutely nothing about Tom Brady. I always rooted against him growing up.

When I dug into his story I realized he has a lot in common with Michael Jordan. They both are competitors that fuel themselves in proving doubters wrong. Entrepreneurs can learn a lot from them.

Brady was drafted with the 199th pick in the 6th round. 6 other QBs were drafted ahead of him because he did not look like a top pick quarterback. Most entrepreneurs are not taken seriously when they first start their business. People won't give you respect until you start winning.

People love you when you are on your way up, but once you're on top people can't wait to see you fall. Same thing in business. People will give you love when you are starting your business because you inspire them, but you are not too far ahead of them (so you don't make them feel too insecure about their shortcomings in life). Think about Grant Cardone. Here's a man who used to be addicted to drugs who turned his life around and has thousand of units and worth billions of dollars. Yet you can find countless criticisms about him from people who are worth less than him. Look at Jay-Z, from being in the streets to being one of the best rappers ever to a billionaire and all people can say is he is part of the "Illuminati". Same thing with Brady, this man worked super hard to make it to the league and when he was on those Patriot teams people give credit to his coach, all-star teammates, basically anyone but Brady.

And after Brady proved everybody wrong and passed everyone's expectations the only thing people could say is "I bet you can't do it again. You're too old."So he did it again as a Buc (one of the worst franchises in the league.

In conclusion , as real estate investors and entrepreneurs we should be ready for a rough road ahead of us. Especially , in this market where sellers want unreasonable amounts for their properties. Most of the time we fuel ourselves with positive energy. However, sometimes that energy can run low. During those times we can use the doubt and hate that people give us and use it as fuel!
