How I Discovered My Why
As my first blog post ever, I think it is fitting to explain WHY I am doing this in the first place.
There are a lot of whys in life that can be asked along the way to clarify or justify a decision and I feel that we are all searching for the right answers to these questions. The main why behind almost everything I do in my life is happiness. It is why I live in San Diego and spend time with certain people more than others, it is what drives my passion for real estate and my sales career, and it is why I am constantly learning and teaching others what I have learned.
In the last 5 years since I graduated from college and entered the real world with a real corporate job, I have met many good people who are unhappy. They spend a majority of their time doing tasks that they have no passion for and unfortunately studies show that this is the majority of adults in the US workforce.
During that time, I have lived in the Midwest, on the East Coast and now on the West Coast with a year long sabbatical as a beach bum in the Caribbean. I have been lucky enough to see some of the most beautiful places and meet wonderful people along the way and also experience firsthand the terrible destruction and aftermath of a record breaking hurricane. It taught me that happiness is really just a state of mind and it can be achieved by anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances.
I see real estate as a vehicle to realize the main desires that I have in life today which are 1. to be able to help those closest to me and eventually many others to become truly happy and 2. to gain the time and financial freedom that allows me to travel and do 1. as much as possible.
I'm sure that my WHY will evolve over time but I will continue to make sure I align my life choices with my long-term goals so I don't undercut myself along the way. Through this blog I will share my successes and failures as I follow this path and hopefully I can inspire some others to do the same.
