The Denver Aerotropolis as an economic catalyst

This week I attended the Adams County Economic Development Council (AEDC) meeting at which the Aerotropolis and Investment were discussed. Please note that the Aerotropolis Coordinating Committee (ACC), headed by Adams County Councilman, Steve O’Dorisio, and the Aerotropolis Regional Committee (ARC) are heading up the planning efforts for the Aerotropolis effort in the Front Range community.

Janet Fritz, AEDC, and a member of the ACC made an excellent presentation on the critical elements of the work of the ARC. Their work, she said, “Is to attract primary employers to the area.” The ACC and ARC want the Aerotropolis to be an “economic catalyst.” In other words, they want the Aerotropolis to have “Catalytic Economic Effects,” as illustrated in the slide below.

She also explained the points of differentiation that the Front Range has from other communities:

Strengths: air connectivity, room to grow, stakeholder support, and industry diversity.

In an article I authored in February of this year (and mentioned in a previous post), I address each of these issues, among others, to explain the mechanisms and requirements to attract investment to Aerotropolises.
